Gamble on Torres to strike first in Merseyside derby

Premiership leaders Manchester United remain unbeaten after 20 matches but they face a huge test of their title mettle as they head to Tottenham.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men are Betdaq's 2.5 (6/4) favourites but Spurs, a 2/1 shot at Ladbrokes, haven't lost at home since August and as United have drawn seven out of nine on the road, Victor Chandler's 12/5 chalked against the stalemate is the most attractive match bet.

Kenny Dalglish heads back to Anfield for his first home match in charge of Liverpool for a Merseyside derby showdown against Everton and his return could lift the hosts, Partybets' 11/10 favourites, who are worth considering at 3/1 (888Sport) to shade it by a one-goal margin.

Fernando Torres meanwhile is 9/2 with Paddy Power to break the deadlock. Man City also look a good bet at 7/20 to beat Wolves.

Crystal Palace have lost ten out of 13 on the road. Statistics don't bode well for a trip to promotion-chasing Swansea, who look a safe bet at 8/13 with Stans.

Also at 8/13 (William Hill) are Leeds, who host struggling Scunthorpe, while at Carrow Road, Norwich look to have been underestimated as they prepare to entertain Cardiff. The third-placed Canaries have to be fancied at 13/10 with Betfred.

In League One, MK Dons strength at stadium:mk lends appeal to the 5/6 Coral mark against them seeing off struggling Tranmere and solid Hartlepool (5/6, Victor Chandler) can send Dagenham home empty-handed while dropping down a division, bottom club Hereford are liked at Totesport's 11/10 to beat fellow strugglers Stockport.
