East of Scotland: Robbie Ross strikes for Edinburgh City

FORMER Arbroath striker Robbie Ross, who returned to Edinburgh City in the transfer window, opened the scoring in their 2-1 win against Heriot Watt University which has moved them into the top half of the Central Taxis Premier Division.

Simon Ferrie notched a stunning 35-yard equaliser for the students who appeared to be heading for a draw until Ryan Wilson capitalised on a defensive mistake to rifle home the winner with three minutes left.

Stirling University stay in second position after a 4-2 win against Vale of Leithen. Goalscorers for the students were Jason Atkins (2), Liam Corr and Michael Pentland while David Anderson and Steven Radzynski netted for Vale.

In the First Division, Easthouses Lily remain on the fringes of the promotion race after a 2-1 away win over Coldstream. Kyle Boggie and Danny Wilson scored for Easthouses with James Guy on the mark for Coldstream.

Gretna 2008 won 4-1 at Eyemouth United with goals from Alan Inglis, Dean Rea, Adam McMath and Andrew Rigg. Steven Shannan netted for Eyemouth.
