Boxing: Taylor hopes to mend for Turkey bouts

LOCHEND lightweight Josh Taylor lost by 13-10 points to a German opponent while boxing for a Great Britain squad in Berlin, sustaining a cut eye requiring five stitches.

However, the 2010 Commonwealth Games silver medallist should be fit for a return to action in the European championships in Ankara, Turkey next month.

Meanwhile, fellow Lochend boxer, light-flyweight Tommy McCallum, outpointed Dunfermline's Scott Thomson on the latter's hometown Carnegie Conference Centre show.
