Top bank boss says bonuses are 'wrong'

THE head of the UK's biggest bank has hit out at the "inflated" bonus culture and predicted smaller payouts for the industry.

Stephen Green, the chairman of HSBC and the British Bankers' Association, said yesterday the industry "had very good reason to be uncomfortable", adding that bank pay had been distorted, which had given rise to "wrong and frankly inflated" bonuses.
