PJ Proby in court over benefit claims

SIXTIES pop star PJ Proby appeared in court yesterday charged with cheating the benefits system out of more than £47,000.

Proceedings at Worcester Crown Court were adjourned after Proby's barrister, David Gottlieb, asked for more time to prepare. Proby was granted bail. and will reappear on 31 May.
