Strathclyde Police, which is investigating the death, launched a murder inquiry and have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

Detective Inspector Duncan Hamilton, who is leading the inquiry, said: "I would once again urge anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance in Laggan Road between these times to get in touch with police as a matter of urgency.

"We are confident that the answer lies within the community and would ask anyone with any information at all to please get in touch - no matter how insignificant it may seem, the information you have could be vital to the inquiry and tracing the person or people responsible for the death of this man."

A report is being sent to the procurator fiscal.
