Holiday sickness costs cold cash

PEOPLE who fall ill on holiday miss more than £300 worth of their sunshine break, a poll has found.

Stomach upsets are most likely to plague holidaymakers (66 per cent), followed by sunburn (62 per cent) and insect bites (55 per cent),

Almost three quarters who have fallen ill miss out on up to four days of their holiday.

With the average holiday costing 564, that is equivalent to 322 worth of holiday - based on average cost figures from Travel Trade Gazette.
