Drunk batters down door to get keys back

A DRUNK battered down the door of his pal's house to get his own house keys back, a court heard.

Nicky McLean feared he was going to have to spend the night on the streets, Livingston Sheriff Court was told yesterday. He discovered his keys were missing when he got home and couldn't unlock his front door. So he walked back to his friend's place in Livingston where he had left his jacket at a pre-club drinking party.

McLean repeatedly banged on the door and shouted threats at his so-called friends in the early hours of the morning.

Julia McLaren, prosecuting, said: "He remembered chapping on the window. The next thing he remembers is fighting with the people holding him."

McLean, 20, of Livingston, pleaded guilty to committing a breach of the peace by entering the house uninvited. Sheriff Gail Patrick fined him 200.
