A NEW survey has revealed that Americans find Glaswegian the ‘sexiest’ of all British accents.

The research, carried out by British Airways, asked 1,000 Americans and 1,000 Britons for their take on different regional accents, with 25 per cent of the Americans surveyed highlighting the Glaswegian tongue as the sexiest.

However, a fifth of US respondents thought it was Scouse.

Cockney came second, picking up 16 per cent of the vote.

The Edinburgh-born actor is well-known for his distinctive accent while London-born pair Grant and Knightley have appeared in numerous Hollywood films.
