Addict robbed thirsty victim

A HEROIN addict who robbed his victim after tricking him into a close off the Royal Mile with the promise of a "cheap pint" has been jailed for two years.

Robert Campbell, 34, promised to show Simon Cork, 44, to a good bar after striking up conversation outside the Bank Hotel.

He led Mr Cork into a close and once there he seized him by the throat, threatened him and robbed him of 104. Campbell admitted carrying out the assault and robbery while acting along with another on 3 November last year.
