A marathon effort for zoo charity

THE charity that owns Edinburgh Zoo is looking for people to run the Edinburgh Half Marathon to help raise vital funds for conservation, education and research - and, perhaps, help make a New Year resolution come true.

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) is urging people to raise funds for the charity by taking part in the marathon on 10 April.

The 13.3 mile race will take runners from Meadowbank Stadium to Musselburgh Racecourse.

Acting Development Manager at RZSS, Roz McIvor, said: "If your New Year resolution is to be healthier, then taking part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon for RZSS is the perfect way to do it.

"You will get fit, have great fun and achieve something amazing. And you'll also be helping to raise vital funds for RZSS and its conservation projects for endangered animals and environments around the world."

A minimum of 150 must be raised in sponsorship for the charity.
